By accessing or using the Daktri platform, including our mobile applications (Daktri and Daktri Doctor) and website (daktri.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Description of Service

Daktri is a cross-border healthcare platform that connects diaspora sponsors with verified doctors in Africa. Our platform enables:

• Sponsors to book and pay for medical consultations for their family members in Africa
• Video, audio, chat, and in-person consultations with verified healthcare providers
• Secure payment processing with escrow protection
• Doctor verification and credential management
• Real-time notifications and consultation tracking

3. User Accounts

To use our services, you must create an account and provide accurate, complete information. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Ensuring your account information is kept up to date

We enforce single-device session policies for security. Logging in on a new device will automatically sign out any previous active session.

4. Healthcare Disclaimer

Daktri is a technology platform that facilitates connections between sponsors, patients, and healthcare providers. We are not a healthcare provider.

• Doctors on our platform are independent professionals, not employees of Daktri
• We verify doctor credentials but do not guarantee the quality of medical advice or treatment
• Our platform does not replace emergency medical services. In case of emergency, contact local emergency services immediately
• Medical advice provided through the platform should not be considered a substitute for in-person medical examination when necessary

5. Payments and Escrow

Our platform uses an escrow payment system to protect both sponsors and healthcare providers:

• Payments are held in escrow until the consultation is completed
• Funds are released to the doctor upon successful completion of the consultation
• Refund policies apply in cases of cancellation or no-show according to our refund policy
• All payments are processed securely through Stripe
• Platform fees are deducted as disclosed at the time of booking

6. Doctor Obligations

Healthcare providers using the Daktri Doctor app agree to:

• Provide accurate professional credentials and maintain valid medical licenses
• Deliver healthcare services in accordance with professional standards and local regulations
• Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with applicable privacy laws
• Respond to consultation requests in a timely manner
• Not engage in fraudulent or deceptive practices

7. Prohibited Conduct

Users may not:

• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Provide false or misleading information
• Interfere with or disrupt the platform's operation
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other user accounts
• Use the platform to distribute harmful or malicious content
• Circumvent the payment or escrow system

8. Intellectual Property

The Daktri platform, including its design, logos, software, and content, is the property of Daktri and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of our platform without prior written consent.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Daktri shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform. This includes but is not limited to damages related to medical outcomes, payment disputes, or service interruptions.

10. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or compromise platform safety. Users may delete their accounts at any time through the app settings or by contacting our support team.

11. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the app or by email. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation, and if necessary, through binding arbitration.
